ISAP #5: Hippies, Experiential Learning, and The Study Abroad Journal with Natalie Garrett

This week I’m talking with Natalie Garrett, co-founder of The Study Abroad Journal (and Marketing/Customer Experience Director at Via TRM).  Natalie and I are not only great friends, but now business partners as well. About three years ago, we started dreaming up a tool to help students navigate their experience abroad. Well, last February that tool became a reality in the form of the Study Abroad Journal - a physical journal...with paper...that requires a writing utensil ;) - was born.

WHAT YOU’LL LEARN IN THIS EPISODE

  • How experiential learning transformed the trajectory of Natalie’s career and life
  • Why reflection is so power in both formal and informal learning environments
  • Where we got the idea for the study abroad journal
  • What Natalie and I were drinking when we started dreaming up the Study Abroad Journal ;)
  • How you can get a discount on your copy of the Journal
